Trades Workshop Summer School
The Vocational Trades Summer Workshop proved to be an engaging and educational experience for young participants. This hands-on program, featuring carpentry, painting, tiling, and bricklaying, aimed to introduce children to the world of skilled trades while fostering creativity and practical skills development.
Throughout the workshop, children were immersed in various trade disciplines. In the carpentry module, they learned to craft their first wooden project - a box, while honing their woodworking skills under the guidance of experienced instructors. The painting segment allowed young artists to explore their creativity, providing an opportunity for self-expression through colorful brush strokes and imaginative designs. In the tiling and bricklaying sections, participants learned the fundamentals of these trades, gaining practical knowledge of how to lay tiles and bricks, creating small but tangible structures.
The workshop not only offered hands-on experience but also instilled a sense of accomplishment in the children as they completed projects. It encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Moreover, it exposed participants to potential career paths in the trades, emphasizing the importance of these skills in various industries.
The summer workshop left children with a newfound appreciation for the value of vocational trades, equipping them with practical skills and igniting their passion for craftsmanship, all while having a memorable and enjoyable summer experience.
